The part was formerly high-pressure die cast using ADC12 Al-Si alloy.

RidgeAlloy was chosen because it can provide structural properties while utilizing 100% mixed automotive body sheet (ABS) scrap containing elevated levels of iron and silicon without any heat treatment. This provides a cost effective way to utilize ABS scrap, while still producing castings with high mechanical properties and increased thermal conductivity.
